It was a privilege to be at the Siracusa International Institute for the delivery of practical training on international judicial cooperation for the EuroMed Justice Project.
I was invited to present to Judges and Prosecutors from Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan and Palestine on Joint Investigation Teams (JIT), Anti-Money Laundering and accessing E-Evidence from Service Providers.
This was also an opportunity to present the EuroMed E-Evidence Manual and the application of the model forms for preservation and emergencies.
Applying this knowledge, the EuroMed team ran a practical training exercise using a real-time terrorism case scenario to obtain E-Evidence in an emergency, drafting a Mutual Legal Assistance Request, addressing extradition challenges and when to form a JIT.
I hope Professor Bassiouni would have agreed the workshop was a success!
